Ps 51:9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.
Acknowledgement of sins, and a desire for redemption.
Ps 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
A desire for purification and a spirit of determination.
Ps 51:11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
A spirit of desperation and complete dependence on God.
Ps 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Pleading for lost joy and a spirit of willingness and endurance.
